  • Coursera - “We envision a future where everyone has access to a world-class education that has so far been available to a select few. We aim to empower people with education that will improve their lives, the lives of their families, and the communities they live in.”
  • EdX - Courses from some of the "worlds best universities", such as MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, Cornell University, and others from elsewhere in the world.
  • Open Culture - 700 Free Online Courses from Top Universities, and also Free Audio Books, Movies, Languages, and a few other things.
  • Open Yale Courses - "Free and open access to a selection of introductory courses taught by distinguished teachers and scholars at Yale University. The aim of the project is to expand access to educational materials for all who wish to learn."
  • Khan Academy -

  • Bookboon - Free educational ebooks and textbooks for business professionals and students.
  • FreeScience - Free books on a variety of sciences, such as Biology, Computer Science, Physics, etc. Hope you enjoy!

Documentaries & Lectures:
  • TED - Great lecture site covering a broad range of ideas, if you've never seen any TEDtalks I really recommend this site, they really are "Ideas worth Spreading".
  • Top Documentary Films - Watch Free Documentaries from a wide variety of categories.
  • Science Documentaries - A collection of documentaries & lectures from the science world.
  • VideoNeat - This is currently my favorite documentary/Lecture site right now, There is literally MONTH's worth of videos. Mostly on Science, which "can serve as a tool for human beings to better understand the world they live in, and enjoy it."

    Astronomy Sites:
    • 100,000 Stars - Created by Google, this is a visualization of the Milky way galaxy. To start click on 'Take a Tour' in the top left, or you can explore.

    Biology Sites:
    • Encyclopedia of Life - This is an Encyclopeda of information and picutures of all species known to science. Their Mission: "To increase awareness and understanding of living nature through an Encyclopedia of Life that gathers, generates, and shares knowledge in an open, freely accessible and trusted digital resource."

    DIY Sites:
    • Instructables - This site has something for any DIY'er out there. From Food recipes to building custom decorations for your living room. Check it out, just don't become overwhelmed with all the possibilities.
